Red Caboose Winery was officially permitted on October 8, 2005. Since then we have fermented 2005
though 2009 wines. Phase one and phase two of the winery are now
complete, which includes the new barrel cellar and patio. This cellar will function as barrel storage for aging wine and as a dining facility for banquets. In our banquet area we will be able to accommodate up to forty people inside and 50 people outside on the adjacent patio.
Red Caboose winery is Green. Our
design meets LEED green building criteria and meets or exceeds the USGBC
standards. We are one of the few wineries in the country that is
designed to those standards. By using geothermal cooling and
chilling, collecting rainwater for irrigation, and producing our own
electricity, we qualify as a sustainable building. Not only does
it make good design sense, but it helps save the environmental impacts
while saving energy costs. The new cellar is partially subterranean which provides more energy efficiencies, geothermal cooling, and cost savings.
Our winery and vineyards are located on the G Lazy M Ranch in beautiful Bosque County, south of Fort Worth and Dallas. We now
have 16.03 acres of vineyards planted.
